Sochi 2014 Hopefuls Take Centre Stage at the 2013 SKATE CANADA INTERNATIONAL, Live Oct. 25-26 on CTV and TSN

TORONTO (October 24, 2013)
– A strong Canadian contingent leads a slate of Sochi 2014 hopefuls at the 2013 SKATE CANADA INTERNATIONAL, airing October 25-26 on CTV and TSN from the Harbour Station in Saint John, N.B. Live coverage begins with the Ladies and Pairs Short Programs on Friday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. ET on TSN (see below for a complete broadcast schedule). 

French-language coverage of the event is available on RDS and RDS2.

CTV and TSN are the official broadcasters of Skate Canada domestic events. The networks’ coverage is led by the industry’s top figure skating broadcast team of Brian Williams, Rod Black, Tracy Wilson, and Sara Orlesky.

Williams hosts the 2013 Skate Canada International, bringing his extensive experience covering the Olympic Winter Games and Canadian and World Figure Skating Championships. Black, the voice of figure skating in Canada, is in the broadcast booth with analyst Wilson, a decorated Canadian figure skating champion. Reporting rinkside and backstage is Orlesky, who covered figure skating events at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

The 2013 SKATE CANADA INTERNATIONAL features some of figure skating’s biggest stars, including three-time and reigning World Champion Patrick Chan and Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games gold medallists Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. They are joined by defending national pair champions Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford and ladies champion Kaetlyn Osmond. The 2013 SKATE CANADA INTERNATIONAL also features Canadian ice dancers Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje, silver medallists at their first event this season, the 2013 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic, and Alexandra Paul and Mitchell Islam, who began this season with a bronze medal at the Nebelhorn Trophy.

CTV and TSN’s figure skating coverage continues with the CANADIAN TIRE NATIONAL SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS, running Jan.10-11, 2014 in Ottawa – marking the event’s 100th anniversary.
