TORONTO (December 8, 2014) – It’s the most wonderful time of the year for Space fans as the time-honoured tradition of SPACE-MAS returns for 16 days beginning Saturday, Dec. 20 at 6 a.m. ET. Now in its fifth year and one of the most-watched periods on Space, SPACE-MAS 2015 is jam-packed with iconic movie and sci-fi marathons, from TRANSFORMERS to X-MEN, to all things DOCTOR WHO.
Viewers can fire up their sonic screwdrivers bright and early as SPACE-MAS launches at 6 a.m. ET on Saturday Dec. 20 with THE COMPLETE DOCTOR WHO-A-THON, featuring a bevy of DOCTOR WHO specials including THE SCIENCE OF DOCTOR WHO, TALES FROM THE TARDIS, and DOCTOR WHO: EARTH CONQUEST. Space is also going back nine years to Season 1, Episode 1 of DOCTOR WHO, giving fans the chance to spend six days watching every single episode and Christmas special, up to the Season 8 finale on Christmas Day. Of course, all episodes are available on demand on CraveTV beginning Dec. 11.
THE COMPLETE DOCTOR WHO-A-THON leads up to the much-anticipated Christmas Day DOCTOR WHO event beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET with the all-new INNERSPACE: DOCTOR WHO CHRISTMAS SPECIAL, leading into the 2014 DOCTOR WHO Christmas Special, LAST CHRISTMAS, starring Peter Capaldi and featuring Nick Frost as Santa, premiering at 9 p.m. ET.

Immediately following the DOCTOR WHO Christmas special, SPACE-MAS continues to deliver marathons filled with magic, superheroes, zombies, and machines. Beginning at 10:30 p.m. ET, Space falls under the spell of the MAGICAL MERRY MARATHON, including all eight Harry Potter films. Then, Space goes from magic and wands to capes and tights with the SUPER TEAM MOVIE MARATHON, featuring high-octane, fan-favourites including X-MEN, THE HUNGER GAMES, and KICK-ASS.
To ring in the new year, Space serves up a huge helping of braaaaaiiinnns with the ZOMBIE-A-THON beginning Thursday, Jan. 1, which includes an encore presentation of the entire first season of the post-apocalyptic horror drama, Z NATION. The following day, Space ups the incredible with an AMAZING ACTION ADVENTURE-A-THON, featuring classic block-buster films including THE MUMMY and JURRASSIC PARK. Finally, SPACE-MAS crash-lands on Jan. 3 with the MAN VS. MACHINE MARATHON, featuring the first three Transformers films.

Thursday, Dec. 25
At 8:30 p.m. ET, in a special edition of Space’s flagship show, INNERSPACE: DOCTOR WHO CHRISTMAS SPECIAL, hosts Ajay Fry, Morgan Hoffman, and Teddy Wilson take a look back at Season 8 and Peter Capaldi’s Doctor. The 30-minute special includes interviews with Capaldi himself, executive producer Steven Moffat, star Jenna Coleman, Phil Ford (co-writer “Into the Dalek”), star Arthur Darvill, Nicholas Briggs (a.k.a The Voice of the Daleks), the Sixth Doctor Colin Baker, and more. The gang also consults with Ford to get his predictions about this year’s Christmas special. At 9 p.m. ET in the 2014 DOCTOR WHO Christmas Special, LAST CHRISTMAS, The Doctor and Clara face their Last Christmas. Trapped on an arctic base and under attack from terrifying creatures…who are you going to call? Santa Claus!

MAGICAL MERRY MARATHON
Beginning at 10:30 p.m. ET on Christmas Day, Space makes the magic last a little longer with the MAGICAL MERRY MARATHON. Viewers can fall under the spell of MIRROR, MIRROR, THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE, and all eight Harry Potter films.

SUPER TEAM MOVIE MARATHON
Space is fighting its way into the new year with the SUPER TEAM MOVIE MARATHON. Beginning at 3:15 p.m. ET, viewers can join the team with X-MEN, X2: X-MEN UNITED, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, the premiere of THE HUNGER GAMES, KICK-ASS, SUPERMAN RETURNS, THE A-TEAM, LOOPER, FACE/OFF, EXECUTIVE DECISION, UNDER SIEGE and UNDER SIEGE 2: DARK TERRITORY, UNIVERSAL SOLIDER: DAY OF RECKONING, THE EXPENDABLES, and THE EXPENDABLES 2.

ZOMBIE-A-THON
Space’s ZOMBIE-A-THON kicks off at 11 a.m. ET on New Year’s Day when viewers can binge on brains and catch up with the entire first season of Z NATION, followed by films RISE OF THE ZOMBIES, ZOMBIE NIGHT, and CARRIERS.

AMAZING ACTION ADVENTURE-A-THON
Space’s gets into shape for the New Year by outrunning mummies and dinosaurs with the AMAZING ACTION ADVENTURE-A-THON. Viewers can get wrapped up in THE MUMMY and THE MUMMY RETURNS before heading to JURASSIC PARK for the entire film trilogy.
Saturday, Jan. 3 – Sunday, Jan. 4
MAN VS. MACHINE MARATHON
The holiday season wraps up with the epic MAN VS. MACHINE MARATHON. Space viewers can catch the Autobots in action with the first three Transformers films, followed by REEL STEEL, and I, ROBOT.
