TORONTO (August XX, 2014) – From covert bodysnatching organizations, to the time-travelling TARDIS, Space hits another dimension in August with the return of its #1 series, DOCTOR WHO, and the premiere of paranormal series INTRUDERS. On Saturday, Aug. 23, Peter Capaldi (THE THICK OF IT) debuts as the latest incarnation of the world’s most beloved Time Lord when the feature-length, two-hour Season 8 premiere event of DOCTOR WHO kicks off at 8 p.m. ET with two, back-to-back episodes.

Leading up to the event, Space’s flagship series INNERSPACE covers the most highly-anticipated regeneration in the universe with INNERSPACE PRESENTS: Doctor Who Season 8, Friday, Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. ET. This 30-minute special includes feature chats with Steven Moffat (SHERLOCK), former Doctors Matt Smith, David Tennant, and Peter Davison, and all-new interviews with current companion Jenna Coleman, and the Twelfth Doctor himself, Peter Capaldi.

Following DOCTOR WHO, the all-new paranormal series INTRUDERS debuts at 10 p.m. ET, exclusively in Canada on Space. The eight-episode, one-hour series follows a secret society seeking immortality by inhabiting the bodies of others. From writer and executive producer Glen Morgan (The X-Files) and based on the novel, The Intruders, written by Michael Marshall Smith, the series stars John Simm (DOCTOR WHO, STATE OF PLAY) as Jack Whelan, a former cop with a shady past whose quiet existence is disrupted by the disappearance of his wife, Amy, played by Academy Award-winning actor Mira Sorvino (Mighty Aphrodite). Beginning Saturday, Aug. 30, INTRUDERS moves to its regular timeslot of 9 p.m. ET, following an all-new episode of DOCTOR WHO at 8 p.m. ET.



Time Lords, Companions, and Bodysnatchers set to invade Space, Aug. 23

The long-awaited Season 8 premiere of DOCTOR WHO, “Deep Breath,” (Saturday, Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. ET) is a pulse-racing adventure through Victorian London. Directed by Ben Wheatley (Sightseers) and written by the iconic Steven Moffat, the feature-length episode stars Peter Capaldi as the Doctor, Jenna Coleman as his companion Clara Oswald, Neve McIntosh (RIPPER STREET) as Madame Vastra, Catrin Stewart (STELLA) as Jenny Flint, and Dan Starkey (The Sarah Jane Adventures) as Strax. Season 8 also welcomes Samuel Anderson (The History Boys) and Keeley Hawes (UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS) to the cast. Anderson plays Danny Pink, a teacher who works alongside Clara Oswald. Hawes joins the cast of as new villain Ms. Delphox, a powerful, otherworldly character with a dark secret. Travelling across space and time, The Doctor and Clara Oswald will come face to face with the mysterious Ms. Delphox when they arrive on a strange and puzzling planet later in the run.

In the premiere episode of INTRUDERS, “She Was Provisional,” (Saturday, Aug. 23 at 10 p.m. ET) mysteries unfold as Amy (Sorvino) heads to Seattle on business and vanishes. When Jack (Simm) travels to Seattle to find his wife, he only uncovers more unanswered questions about Amy’s whereabouts. Meanwhile, nine-year-old Madison (Brown) starts behaving erratically after seeing a stranger on the beach. INTRUDERS also stars Tory Kittles (TRUE DETECTIVE) as Gary Fischer, a high school friend of Jack’s who seeks his old friend’s help with a murder case. James Frain (THE WHITE QUEEN) stars as Richard Shepherd, an assassin whose objective is to conceal the truth, which sends him in pursuit of the young, innocent Madison, played by Millie Brown (ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND).
