TORONTO (June 16, 2015) – Uncensored, unfiltered, and unarguably funny: The Movie Network gets down and dirty on Monday nights this summer with the return of the original stand-up/sketch series FUNNY AS HELL, plus acclaimed titles from IFC including the third season of the deprecating comedy series MARON. As well, The Movie Network presents the much-anticipated adaptation of Eric Jonrosh’s (Will Ferrell) latest novel, THE SPOILS BEFORE DYING, a hilariously over-the-top, six-part, miniseries event and follow-up to THE SPOILS OF BABYLON, starring Michael Kenneth Williams, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, and many more. THE SPOILS BEFORE DYING Premieres Monday, July 20 at 11 p.m. ET Produced by Funny Or Die, and executive produced by Adam McKay and Will Ferrell, the IFC six-part, half-hour miniseries THE SPOILS BEFORE DYING revisits legendary author-turned-director Eric Jonrosh (Will Ferrell), who first introduced television audiences to his storytelling brilliance with the masterful adaptation of his novel The Spoils of Babylon. Written by Jonrosh in a fit of youthful intoxication, THE SPOILS BEFORE DYING is a debaucherous pulp-noir murder mystery set in the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles’ jazz scene. It follows Rock Banyon (Michael Kenneth Williams, BOARDWALK EMPIRE) as he becomes the prime suspect in the double murder of his occasional lover Fresno Foxglove (Maya Rudolph, Bridesmaids) who is found dead with another man. Panicked, Rock splits for Mexico where he reunites with his one-time big band singer Delores DeWinter (Kristen Wiig, Skeleton Twins, Bridesmaids). With 72 hours to clear his name or fry in the electric chair, Rock and Delores embark on a dangerous quest for the truth that takes them into an abyss of sex, drugs, betrayal, and of course, jazz. While his world crumbles, Rock’s hard-charging manager Alistair St. Barnaby (Haley Joel Osment, THE SPOILS OF BABYLON) pressures him to record a mainstream jazz album.
