Steve Ryan Joins CP24 as Crime Specialist

TORONTO (August 28, 2017) – CP24 announced moments ago that Toronto Police Service veteran Steve Ryan has joined the network as Crime Specialist, beginning today. After a 29-year career in law enforcement, Ryan brings decades of investigative experience to his new role at CP24. During his tenure with the Toronto Police Service Homicide Unit, Ryan served as the lead investigator on more than 100 homicide cases, working alongside Interpol and multiple foreign police jurisdictions. Ryan has received numerous accolades for investigative excellence, including an award from Toronto City Council for the successful conclusion of the Melonie Biddersingh investigation in 2016.

He joined the Detective Sex Crimes Unit in 2000, advocating for victims’ rights while investigating serious sexual crimes and solving high-profile cases, including the York University rape investigation. Over his 13 years with the Toronto Police Service Homicide Unit, Ryan contributed context and analysis to CP24’s “Cold Case of The Week” series.
