Preliminary data from Numeris reveals that Sunday night’s broadcast of the
91st Academy Awards® is the biggest entertainment broadcast of the year in Canada with an average audience of 5 million viewers on CTV.
Ratings Recap:
- The OSCARS® grew 9% with total viewers over last year’s broadcast
- In all, 11 million Canadians watched some or all of the 91st Academy Awards on CTV
- The OSCARS delivered a 52% share with more than one in two English-language Canadians who were watching TV on Sunday tuning into the broadcast
- The broadcast peaked with 5.8 million viewers at 10:03 p.m. ET as Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper took the stage to perform “Shallow” from A Star is Born
- OSCARS® OPENING CEREMONY: LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET was watched by 2 million viewers
