TORONTO (February 19, 2013)– It was another “amazing” night for CTV, as Sunday’s blockbuster primetime lineup brought in another first place finish. Canada’s #1 reality program ran away with the night as 2.3 million viewers tuned in to the season premiere ofTHE AMAZING RACE, winning the night with total viewers and all key demos. With the Top 4 programs of the night, CTV won every hour in primetime from 7-11 p.m.
Season 22 ofTHE AMAZING RACEwas also the top entertainment program of the night with total viewers and A25-54 in all markets. Overall, 4.2 million viewers watched some part or all of the premiere episode, peaking at 2.8 million viewers. In Toronto,THE AMAZING RACEwas #1 for the day with strong key adult demo ratings of 8.9 with A18-34, 7.2 with A18-49, and 8.0 with A25-54.
THE AMAZING RACEgave viewers aMOTIVEto stick around, delivering 1.01 million viewers at 9 p.m. for CTV’s newest original series. Winning its timeslot,MOTIVEwas up 24% with total viewers and 30-66% with key adult demos versus last week’s episode. The #1 new Canadian drama of the season,MOTIVE’s series-to-date, three-week average is now 1.06 million viewers.
Earlier in the evening, CTV’sONCE UPON A TIMEwon the 7 p.m. hour with 1.3 million viewers, whileTHE MENTALISTon CTV won the 10 p.m. hour with 1.5 million viewers.
