From exploring the underground coin market in sports video games to playing beer-league hockey with the most famous hockey player in the world (Justin Bieber), the eight episodes are packed with different hockey stories, unraveled and shared by the beloved members of the BarDown team.
THE BARDOWN PODCAST is hosted by BarDown’s
Corwin McCallum and
Daniel ‘DZ’ Zakrzewski, and produced by
Sam Gliserman and BarDown founder and Managing Editor
Dave Krikst.
Highlights from the first season of
THE BARDOWN PODCAST include:
- Corwin and DZ tracking down a beer league hockey player who was suspended for “fighting” Justin Bieber and one of his former teammates, in order to find out what it’s like to play against the most famous hockey player in the world
- “Way to go, Paul”, one of the most infamous hockey videos of all time, has inspired the BarDown crew to connect with Paul himself and explore exactly how it feels to be labeled a “Crazy Hockey Dad”
- Was the music in EA Sports’ NHL games truly better in the 2000s, or is that just nostalgia talking? The podcast goes in-depth on this subject with EA’s worldwide president of music.
- Believe it or not, the NHL originally hated one of the league’s most popular team logos. The crew speaks to the designers of some of the most controversial hockey logos of all time.
“This is the podcast you always told your hockey buddies you were going to start – the unique stories you hear around the world of hockey.
