The CARTE BLANCHE FOR CREATIVES Contest is Back!

– Astral’s advertising creation contest takes place once again in Canada’s three major markets from March 16 to April 7, 2020 –

MONTRÉAL (March 16, 2020) – Astral, a division of Bell Media, is launching the 11th CARTE BLANCHE FOR CREATIVES contest. The billboard advertising creation contest takes place from March 16 to April 7, 2020 in three key markets: Québec, Toronto, and Western Canada (which includes Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver).

With the full creative freedom that comes from working without a brief, participants will be tasked with creating ads for Astral’s large-format digital billboards. Entries must be original digital ads designed specifically for one of their agency’s clients and submitted to CarteBlancheforCreatives.ca by April 7.

Members of the 2020 Jury

Since 2018, CARTE BLANCHE entries have been evaluated by a national jury of renowned creatives to determine finalists and winners for each market. The six members of the 2020 CARTE BLANCHE jury are:

The 2020 CARTE BLANCHE Campaign

CARTE BLANCHE will be launched through a digital campaign targeting agencies’ creative professionals. Creative work can sometimes be thankless, due to less-than-inspiring briefs and seemingly endless rounds of revisions. With Carte Blanche, creatives get the opportunity to take fate into their own hands and submit work without any restrictions. It’s also a chance to take the work further, and farther – to Cannes.

The CARTE BLANCHE grand prize

The winning creative teams from each market will attend the 67th Cannes Lion International Festival of Creativity. Clients of winning submissions will receive a display campaign on Astral large-format digital billboards valued at $50,000 to roll out the concept in their respective markets.

  • Finalists announced: April 27, 2020
  • Winners for all markets will be revealed: May 6, 2020
