The Comedy Network Goes Deep With New Series INSIDE AMY SCHUMER, Beginning April 30

TORONTO (April 16, 2013) – This month, The Comedy Network goes way down and sometimes dirty with the boundary-pushing new sketch series INSIDE AMY SCHUMER. Premiering Tuesday, April 30 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, the stand-up comedian, actress, writer, and two-time COMEDY CENTRAL ROASTer is poised to shock viewers with her no-holds-barred take on topics including sex and relationships – all demonstrated through a series of scripted vignettes, stand-up, and woman-on-the-street interviews. In the series premiere, Schumer attends a casting session for the famous Internet video “2 Girls, One Cup,” lets her imagination run wild after a one-night stand, and endures a slightly less-than-terrifying flight.

Quickly making a name for herself as one of the hottest stars in comedy thanks to her blend of girl-next-door looks and edgy comedy, Schumer has starred in her own one-hour stand up special, AMY SCHUMER: MOSTLY SEX STUFF, was one of the featured comedians on THE ROAST OF ROSEANNE and THE ROAST OF CHARLIE SHEEN, and has recently guest-starred on the television series LOUIE and GIRLS. Her work on the big screen includes Price Check and Seeking a Friend For the End of the World. Schumer is currently making her way across the United States on a 30-city national stand-up tour, “Inside Amy Schumer: The Live Tour.”

Joining Schumer in the series are a crowd of well-known actors and comedians including Jon Glaser (PARKS AND RECREATION), Michael Showalter (Wet Hot American Summer), Amber Tamblyn (HOUSE), Michael Ian Black (BURNING LOVE), Rob Schneider (BETTY WHITE’S OFF THEIR ROCKERS), and many more.

INSIDE AMY SCHUMER was created by Schumer and Daniel Powell, (THE COLBERT REPORT) who executive produce along with Jessi Klein (KROLL SHOW). Klein also serves as Head Writer. The series is directed by Neal Brennan (Chappelle’s Show), Steven Tsuchida (The Sarah Silverman Program), and John Lee (Delocated), with original music composed by Questlove. Seasoned comics Tig Notaro, Kyle Dunnigan, Kurt Metzger, and Gabe Liedman make up the writing staff.
