Leanne and Mar are the fifth team eliminated in Season 6 of CTV’s THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION.
To tweet this alert: https://bmpr.ca/2MH5aS1 It was a heartbreaking end for Leanne and Mar in tonight’s episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION. The teammates struggled during the paintball, challenge opting to take a two-hour penalty, which put them at the back of the pack. Because of the penalty, the mentors became the fifth team eliminated at the Pit Stop at Cavendish Beach in P.E.I. With five teams remaining in the competition, THE AMAZING RACE CANADA returns next Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 8 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. MT on CTV and CTV GO. “We said from the beginning that if we went home first, or if we made it to the end, we would be proud – I’m so proud of us,” said Leanne to host Jon Montgomery at the Pit Stop. “Mar was the first and only person that came to my mind when I realized this was a heroes edition, and I couldn’t have run this race with anybody else.” “These experiences have moved us forward,” added Mar. “We’ve grown up so much as individuals and as friends. Leanne is my heart and soul and there is no way I would’ve been able to even complete the first leg without having her by my side.” *MEDIA NOTE* To download press materials for THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION, please visit BellMedia.ca/PR. In tonight’s episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA, all six teams travelled from the Pit Start in Winnipeg, Man. to the windswept shores of Charlottetown, P.E.I. Once they touched down, racers made their way to Beaconsfield Historic House, where they participated in a popular scavenger hunt based on Eckhart The Mouse, a children’s book hero created by local author David Weale and illustrator Dale McNevin. Scattered around the heart of Charlottesville were nine miniature bronze statues of Eckhart, but only three of them held a piece to their next clue. Once teams located all three mice they put them together to reveal their next destination. After arriving last on the previous leg, Nancy and Mellisa had to complete a meaningful Speedbump at the Humble Barber cutting the hair of two donors for The Canadian Cancer Society wig program before they could join the other racers. Teams then proceeded to an old church that was restored into an intimate culinary studio. In this Roadblock, one racer from each team was handed their own individual menu of a four course meal to be served. However, the words to all four of the dishes were scrambled. Racers had to correctly descramble each of the four menu items and deliver them in order, from appetizer to dessert, to the hungry locals. Once they deciphered and delivered their entire menu they were given their next clue. After correctly serving up a delicious feast, teams encountered a Detour where they had to choose between “Suds” or “Spuds”. In “Suds,” teams made their way to The Great Canadian Soap Company where they had to milk a goat to create handmade soap and then had to smell and identify 10 different types of soap. In “Spuds,” teams travelled to the north shore of the island and located Blue Bay Farms Ltd. Here, they had to till the soil of a massive field, create four rows, and gather and plant potatoes to fill the rows they tilled. All of the teams chose to do “Spuds”. Following the Detour, teams made their way to the historic town of Cavendish, P.E.I. and located Crossfire Adventure Paintball, where racers took cover from a hoard of zombies as they searched the post-apocalyptic playground for their next clue. Racers were penalized one minute for every paintball hit they took, which had to be served before they could keep on racing. Mar and Leanne were unable to make it through and opted to take a two-hour penalty instead. From the challenge, all teams raced to Prince Edward Island’s national park and searched Cavendish Beach for host Jon Montgomery at the Pit Stop. Nancy and Mellisa arrived first, overcoming a Speedbump and winning a trip for two to Istanbul, Turkey. Unfortunately, the 2-hour time penalty for not completing the paintball challenge caused mentors Leanne and Mar to be the last team to check in at the Pit Stop and the fifth team eliminated in Season 6 of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION.
