Zainab and Monica are the fourth team eliminated in Season 6 of CTV’s THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION
To tweet this alert: https://bmpr.ca/2vN7DzB After being spared from elimination for the second time this season, and given the opportunity to keep on racing, Zainab and Monica’s luck ran out, and the coworkers became the fourth team eliminated at the Pit Stop at Ireland Park in Toronto. With six teams remaining in the competition, THE AMAZING RACE CANADA on Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 8 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. MT on CTV and CTV GO. “It’s a tough one,” Monica said to host Jon Montgomery at the Pit Stop. “I’m sad, I’m disappointed, but this race has taught me when you feel like you’re at your lowest, you have to smile and enjoy the moment.” “It was the U-turn I think. We’re actually surprised we were the only ones that were U-turned. I guess its karma. We U-turned Todd and Anna and they were eliminated so…” Zainab added looking to Monica. “Throughout this whole race we kept persevering and pushing forward. You know, we’re representing The Canadian Armed Forces and the Navy.” *MEDIA NOTE* To download additional artwork and press materials for THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION, please visit BellMedia.ca/PR. In tonight’s episode the remaining seven teams continued their race, heading from Stratford, Ont. to Canada’s largest city, Toronto, and located City Hall. From the observation deck, racers had to scan the city, spot THE AMAZING RACE CANADA flag, and determine the location of their next clue, Yonge Dundas Square. In this two-part Roadblock, one racer from each team had to pack a 2018 Chevrolet Spark with urban essentials, leaving the front passengers seat empty, and an unobstructed line of sight from the rear view mirror. Once the car was successfully packed, it had to be reversed through a marked course and parked in a tight space without knocking over any cones to receive their next clue from an OnStar advisor. Once complete, teams travelled using only the TTC to the Monkey’s Paw, a unique book store home to the biblio-mat, the world’s first book vending machine. Here, teams had to pop a token into the machine, and the biblio-mat spit out a book and their next clue. Racers also found the Double U-turn, giving two teams the opportunity to slow down two other teams by forcing them to complete both sides of the Detour. Courtney and Adam chose to U-turn Zainab and Monica, hoping it would save them from elimination. For this Detour, teams had to choose between “Latte Art” and “Walk the Part”. In “Latte Art,” teams made their way to Versus Coffee located in the Financial District, where they had to watch a demonstration and become a barista by elevating a simple latte into a work of art. Racers mastered the technique of steaming milk to create the perfect latte foam, added colour, and carefully poured two frothy masterpieces. In “Walk the Part,” teams were required to make their way to El Convento Rico located in Little Italy, where they had to select an outfit, pick an instructor, and learn how to vogue. Popularized in the late eighties and making a comeback in London, New York, and Toronto, voguing is a dance characterized by ridged body movement and model-like catwalk poses. After completing the Detour, all teams headed to the North York Harvest Food Bank where they selected an order form and had to package an assortment of freshly baked Dempster’s products into red boxes for distribution. From the challenge, all teams raced to the Toronto waterfront and located Ireland Park on the edge of Lake Ontario, where they found host Jon Montgomery and Season 5 winners Sam and Paul at the Pit Stop. Taylor and Courtney arrived first, winning a trip for two to Hong Kong and $5,000 worth of Dempster’s products donated to a foodbank in their community. Unfortunately, the U-Turn set them far behind the pack and the Navy sailors Zainab and Monica were the last team to arrive at the Pit Stop and the fourth team eliminated in Season 6 of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION.
