Luck ran out for Nancy and Mellisa in tonight’s episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION. The teammates struggled to catch up to Courtney and Adam in a foot race to the mat, and became the sixth team eliminated at the Pit Stop in Mexico City. With four teams remaining in the competition, THE AMAZING RACE CANADA returns next Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 8 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. MT on CTV and CTV GO.
“I think we did awesome, and it was so much fun,” said Nancy to host Jon Montgomery at the Pit Stop. “The key to success was just letting it all hang out. Run without reserve is what I always say. Sure we had some struggles along the way, but our relationship has evolved. It’s been a pleasure.”
“Nancy and I came into this with no pre-existing relationship,” added Mellisa. “I have a new family member. I can’t even say just a friend; she is somebody who is so special to me.”

In tonight’s episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA, the remaining five teams travelled to Mexico City, Mexico. Once they touched down, racers made their way to the Monumento a la Revolución in Plaza de la Repúblicia, a majestic arch that commemorates the Mexican revolution of the early 20th century. Here, teams had to ride an elevator to the top of the monument where they received a special clue from home.
Teams then proceeded to Frontón Mexico, a world-class Jai Alai facility located in the heart of the city. Jai Alai is one of Mexico’s most popular sports, played by hurling a rock hard rubber ball using a handmade wicker scoop. In this Roadblock, one racer from each team had to enter the court and correctly land one serve. Courtney, Courtney, Dylan, Mellisa, and Martina aced their serves and received their next clue.
After completing the Roadblock, teams encountered a Detour where they had to choose between “Muertos” or “Mercado”. In “Muertos,” teams made their way to Fuente de Cortes, where they had to become part of Mexico City’s most popular holiday “Day of the Dead” or “Dia de Muertos,” a celebration where family and friends gather and paint symbols called calaveras on their faces to remember and honour loved ones who have died. Here, racers selected two different designs and had to perfectly paint an exact replica of their chosen design on their partners’ face. In “Mercado,” teams headed to Latin America’s largest market, Central de Abasto, where they had to search the market for produce needed to make a batch of pico de gallo. Nancy and Mellisa were the only team to choose “Mercado.”
Following the Detour, teams made their way to the fashionable and upscale Condesa neighbourhood and located a residence. Here teams found themselves on the set of a classic Mexican telenovela. Complete with melodramatic acting, over the top villains and outrageous plot twists, telenovelas are Latin America’s famous serialized TV dramas. Racers each had to choose a character, memorize their Spanish dialogue, and perform the scene with the rest of the actors as the camera’s roll. Once their passion was captured in their performance they received their next clue. From the challenge, all teams raced to Alameda Central, one of the oldest parks in the western hemisphere and searched for host Jon Montgomery at the Pit Stop. Dylan and Kwame arrived first, winning a trip for two to Sydney, Australia. Nancy and Mellisa are the last team to check in at the Pit Stop and the sixth team eliminated in Season 6 of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION.
