Friday, Sept. 5
11 p.m. – THE KNICK – Season 1, Episode 4 of 10
Edwards (André Holland, 1600 PENN) forces Thackery’s (Clive Owen, HBO’s HEMINGWAY AND GELLHORN) hand during surgery, angering Eleanor (Maya Kazan, Frances Ha). In recovery, Abigail (Jennifer Ferrin, HELL ON WHEELS) regrets her past choices involving Thackery. Cleary (Chris Sullivan, HBO’s THE NORMAL HEART) and Sister Harriet (Cara Seymour, An Education) strike one deal, then another. Lucy (Eve Hewson, Enough Said) learns of Thackery’s secret life.
Saturday, Sept. 6
9 p.m. – SUPER DUPER ALICE COOPER (2013) – *Canadian Documentary Premiere*
The Movie Network and Movie Central original documentary SUPER DUPER ALICE COOPER is the twisted tale of a teenage Dr. Jekyll whose rock-n-roll Mr. Hyde almost kills him. It is the story of Vincent Furnier, a preacher’s son, who struck fear into the hearts of parents as Alice Cooper, the ultimate rock star of the bizarre. From the advent of Alice as front man for a group of Phoenix freaks in the 60s, to the hazy decadence of celebrity in the 70s, to his triumphant comeback as 80s glam metal godfather, audiences watch as Alice and Vincent battle for each other’s souls. An official selection of the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, the film is a dizzying blend of documentary archive footage, animation, and rock opera.

9 p.m. – BOARDWALK EMPIRE – Season 5, Episode 1 of 8 – *Season 5 Premiere*
In 1931 Cuba, Nucky joins Sally Wheet (Patricia Arquette, MEDIUM) and, with a U.S. Senator in tow, forges ties with Bacardi Rum in hopes of Prohibition’s repeal in the U.S. Working on Wall Street, Margaret (Kelly Macdonald, Anna Karenina) finds herself in the hot seat when her boss, facing an internal investigation, decides his own future. Down but never out, Chalky (Michael Kenneth Williams, HBO’s THE WIRE) seizes an opportunity to extricate himself from a difficult situation. In New York, Lucky Luciano (Vincent Piazza, RESCUE ME) sets in motion a bold plan that reverberates all the way to Nucky in Cuba.
10 p.m. – THE LEFTOVERS – Season 1, Episode 10 – *Season 1 Finale*
An unexpected ally helps Kevin (Justin Theroux, HBO’s SIX FEET UNDER) get out of a jam near the town of Cairo. Meanwhile, an elaborate Memorial Day initiative by the Guilty Remnant plunges Mapleton into chaos. Holy Wayne (Paterson Joseph, LAW & ORDER: UK) grants a final wish, Tom (Chris Zylka, TWISTED) copes with his new reality, and Nora (Carrie Coon, INTELLIGENCE) makes a life-changing decision.

This HBO documentary explores what it’s like to work in one of the most demanding fire departments in the world, where going to work means risking it all. From old New York to the post-9/11 landscape, the film reveals the immense mental and physical toll that fire-fighting takes on individuals, and on the community borne out of sharing an incredible responsibility. From Liz Garbus (Ghosts of Abu Ghraib), and actor and former New York City firefighter Steve Buscemi.

11 p.m. – THE KNICK – Season 1, Episode 5 of 10
Barrow (Jeremy Bobb, HOUSE OF CARDS) looks to pay down a debt by treating one of Collier’s (Danny Hoch) wounded men at the Knick, and tries to convince Captain Robertson (Grainger Hines, HELL ON WHEELS) to invest in a new Edison invention. Still marginalized by Thackery, Edwards attempts to improve on a hernia surgery. Everett (Eric Johnson, ROOKIE BLUE) and Eleanor fear for their baby’s health; Cleary and Sister Harriet visit Chinatown.

9 p.m. – BOARDWALK EMPIRE – Season 5, Episode 2 of 8
Back from Cuba after a dangerous encounter, Nucky pays a visit to the now-retired Johnny Torrio (Greg Antonacci, HBO’s THE SOPRANOS), who agrees to broker a meeting with the new “Boss of Bosses,” Salvatore Maranzano (Giampiero Judica, INSPECTOR NARDONE). In Chicago, Eli (Shea Whigham, HBO’s TRUE DETECTIVE) and Van Alden (Michael Shannon, The Harvest) are tasked by Mike D’Angelo (Louis Cancelmi , The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Al Capone’s (Stephen Graham, HBO’s PARADE’S END) new right-hand man, to recoup money lost during a federal raid by Eliot Ness (Jim True-Frost, HBO’s TREME).

9 p.m. – TERROR AT THE MALL – *Premiere*
This HBO documentary is a searing account of the events of September 21, 2013, when the Islamist group al-Shabaab stormed the West Gate Mall in Kenya, ultimately claiming responsibility for the 67 deaths and 125 injuries that resulted. Dan Reed (HBO’s TERROR IN MOSCOW and TERROR IN MUMBAI) directs the film, which features never-before-seen footage and photographs from the day and debuts in conjunction with the first anniversary of the attack.

Thackery entertains a salesman’s pitch; Everett considers how to help Eleanor with her grief; Barrow haggles over used merchandise. Chalky heads in a new direction after assessing his latest partnership. In New York, Margaret finds herself in a quandary as a result of her association with Arnold Rothstein. Nucky hosts a prospective “big fish” partner from Boston. Luciano and Siegel meet with Narcisse (Jeffrey Wright, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) in Harlem, promising business as usual, but encounter resistance. In 1884, young Nucky (Nolan Lyons, THE BLACKLIST) is privy to the passion of a hotel guest, and flirts with a young girl.

Facing a shared dilemma, Nucky and Margaret find common ground in Atlantic City. Luciano encounters an old adversary while meeting with Capone in Chicago. In 1884, young Nucky shows young Eli (Oakes Fegley, This Is Where I Leave You) how the other half lives, and takes another step up the Commodore’s ladder.
