KEY STORYLINE: This week, just days in advance of the 2016 U.S. Election, W5 delivers “DIVIDED STATES OF AMERICA”, taking viewers to the swing state of Pennsylvania for an up-close preview of one of the most contentious elections the U.S. has ever seen. Reported from outside Independence Hall where the U.S. Constitution was negotiated and ratified in 1776, W5 Host and Managing Editor Kevin Newman examines the voter profile throughout a state which closely mirrors the U.S. overall, and what impact post-election political paralysis could have on Canadian jobs and manufacturing.
Also this week, W5’s “AFTER EBOLA” takes viewers to Liberia two years after the Ebola virus epidemic took hold in the West African nation. CTV Atlantic Reporter Kayla Hounsell, on special assignment for W5, visits hard-hit communities where entire families were infected and died in only a few days, speaking with survivors and families of victims in a country that remains susceptible to recurring outbreaks. While widespread fear and panic have subsided, broken families and survivors suffer, yet remain hopeful despite their losses.
