TORONTO (September 18, 2017) – As announced during last night’s Emmy® Award
broadcast on CTV, the much-anticipated sci-fi thriller
PHILIP K. DICK’S ELECTRIC DREAMS makes its exclusive Canadian broadcast premiere
Sunday, Nov. 12 at
10 p.m. ET on Space.
The 10-episode, anthology series brings to life thrilling parables of surreal worlds and alternate realities, each inspired by award-winning sci-fi novelist Philip K. Dick’s renowned short stories. Every episode is available to Space subscribers on the newly launched Space GO app, in addition to being available on Space.ca, immediately following its broadcast premiere.
Each episode is a completely independent story boasting an entirely different cast of critically acclaimed actors, including Steve Buscemi (BOARDWALK EMPIRE), Greg Kinnear (THE KENNEDYS), Anna Paquin (TRUE BLOOD), Terrence Howard (EMPIRE), Maura Tierney (THE AFFAIR), Richard Madden (GAME OF THRONES), Vera Farmiga (THE BATES MOTEL), Juno Temple (VINYL), Mireille Enos (THE CATCH), Janelle Monáe (
Moonlight), and executive producer and Academy Award® nominee Bryan Cranston (BREAKING BAD).
Dick’s anthology stories were adapted into one-hour episodes by industry leading British and American writers including Ronald D. Moore (
OUTLANDER, BATTLESTAR GALATICA), Michael Dinner
(JUSTIFIED), Tony Grisoni (
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas),and Jack Thorne (
SKINS). Some of the other top writers include Matthew Graham (
DOCTOR WHO), David Farr (
THE NIGHT MANAGER), Dee Rees (
Mudbound), and Travis Beacham
(Pacific Rim). The episodes expand upon the evergreen themes found in Dick’s literary work, and have been contemporised for new TV audiences.
In the premiere episode “The Hood Maker” (
Sunday, November 12 at
10 p.m. ET), a world without advanced technology, mutant telepaths have become humanity’s only mechanism for long-distance communication, but their powers have unintended implications. When the public begins to embrace mysterious, telepath-blocking hoods, two detectives with an entangled past are brought in to investigate.
