TORONTO — TIFF and Bell Media’s Crave are bringing Canadians together to experience film from the comfort of their own homes. The second and third in a series of virtual chats and screenings with Stay-at-Home Cinema will take place on Wednesday, April 1 and Friday, April 3. On Wednesday, April 1, audiences across the country can watch TIFF Artistic Director and Co-Head Cameron Bailey in a virtual Q&A with Award-winning actor & director Sarah Polley before being invited to screen her 2007 award-winning film, Away from Her on Crave. On Friday, April 3 Catherine O’Hara and Bo Welch will join Cameron in a virtual Q&A to be followed by the award-winning classic, Bettlejuice on Crave. Catherine O’Hara delighted movie goers with her portrayal of Delia, a character that lives on as a cult figure. Bo Welch, is an award-winning production designer who worked on Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and Men in Black. Both Stay-at-Home Cinema experiences will begin with a virtual Q&A on TIFF’s Instagram (@tiff_net) with the guest of honour and Cameron Bailey (7pm to 7:20pm EDT) via Instagram Live. At 7:30pm EDT, audiences can view the film through Crave (app, web, on demand) and continue the conversation on Twitter @TIFF_NET during their home screening. Additional movie titles — all available on Crave — along with special guests will be announced each week on TIFF and Crave’s social media channels. Crave recently announced that it is providing one month free for any new, direct-to-consumer subscribers with access to the internet, expanding the trial period during which Canadians can sample the service from seven to 30 days. For a limited time, the one-time-only offer is for first-time, direct-to-consumer subscribers, and can be accessed now on the Crave app or Crave.ca.
