Featured films and conversations promise laughter and adventure

TORONTO — TIFF and Bell Media’s Crave continue to create meaningful connections by bringing Canadians together to experience film from the comfort of their own homes. The next instalments of Stay-at-Home Cinema will take place Tuesday, May 5 (Firecrackers), Thursday, May 7 (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), and Saturday, May 9 (Bridesmaids). Stay-at-Home Cinema is an event to look forward to each week, and a way to connect film lovers to each other while they enjoy classic films. Additional movie titles — all available on Crave — along with special guests are announced each week on TIFF and Crave’s respective social media channels. On Tuesday, May 5, 7pm EDT, join TIFF Artistic Director and Co-Head Cameron Bailey via livestream at tiff.net as he chats with Jasmin Mozaffari, director of the TIFF 2018 hit and Canadian Screen Award winner Firecrackers. At 7:30pm EDT, audiences are invited to watch the film on Crave. The film on offer for Thursday, May 7 is 2019’s Academy Award winner for Best Animated Feature, the box-office smash hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Bailey will discuss the film with lead actor Shameik Moore at 7pm EDT on TIFF’s livestream at tiff.net. At 7:30pm EDT, audiences are invited to watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on Crave. On Saturday, May 9, Stay-at-Home Cinema presents the hilarious classic Bridesmaids. Bailey’s special guest for the Q&A on tiff.net at 7pm EDT has yet to be confirmed. Audiences can stream Bridesmaids at 7:30pm EDT, only on Crave. As was previously announced, Crave is providing one month free for any new, direct-to-consumer subscribers with access to the internet, expanding the trial period during which Canadians can sample the service from seven to 30 days.
