Crave

TORONTO — TIFF and Bell Media’s Crave continue their commitment to bringing Canadians together to experience film from the comfort of their own homes. The next instalment of Stay-at-Home Cinema will take place next Tuesday, July 21 and will feature the Oscar-winning TIFF 2019 selection Parasite, from Korean auteur Bong Joon-ho. The week’s featured guest will be Sharon Choi, filmmaker and interpreter for Bong. Sharon will join TIFF Artistic Director and Co-Head Cameron Bailey to discuss the genre-bending Festival darling. Audiences are invited to watch the conversation on tiff.net at 7pm EDT, then stream Parasite on Crave at 7:30pm EDT. Parasite is a vertical story of class struggle — punctuated by staircase scenes going from mouldy basements to top floors, from darkness to breezy spaces designed by star architects. Described by Bong himself as “a comedy without clowns and a tragedy without villains,” the box-office hit moves quickly from one tone to another, mixing pathos and satire with thrills and drama, in a perfectly controlled blend of many different genres. Stay-at-Home Cinema continues to bring impactful films to moviegoers and provide industry perspectives with special guests. Additional movie titles — all available on Crave — will be announced throughout July on TIFF and Crave’s social media channels. For more information, please visit tiff.net and crave.ca.
