TRANSPORTER: THE SERIES is Back in Action! The Movie Network and Movie Central Order Season 2 of High-Octane Drama

TORONTO (January 23, 2014) –The Movie Network and Movie Central announced today that they have ordered a 12-episode second season of the one-hour action-packed original Canadian drama series TRANSPORTER: THE SERIES from QVF Inc. and Atlantique Productions. Chris Vance (PRISON BREAK, DEXTER) returns as Frank Martin, a professional transporter who carries anyone or anything, anywhere, for a price. New to the creative team is award-winning writer and producer Frank Spotnitz (THE X-FILES, STRIKE BACK, HUNTED), who serves as show runner for Season 2. The first season of TRANSPORTER: THE SERIES was the most-watched Canadian series on HBO Canada and the #3 Canadian Pay series overall in 2013. The Movie Network (Eastern Canada) and Movie Central (Western Canada) are part of Bell Media and Corus Entertainment, respectively.

TRANSPORTER: THE SERIES is a chance to make a truly international series with incredible action, huge cinematic values and compelling characters,” said show runner Frank Spotnitz. “I’m having a blast.”

TRANSPORTER: THE SERIES follows the adventures of Frank Martin (Vance), a professional “transporter” paid to pick up and deliver people or cargo from anywhere in the world. Frank’s the best at what he does, and only gets the most dangerous and difficult assignments. TRANSPORTER: THE SERIES features dry wit, exotic locations, heart-pounding action, and nail-biting suspense.

TRANSPORTER: THE SERIES begins filming in Morocco in late February, with subsequent shoots in the Czech Republic and the Greater Toronto Area. The series is currently slated to premiere on The Movie Network and Movie Central in late 2014.

TRANSPORTER: THE SERIES is produced by Gemini Award winner Susan Murdoch (DOOMSTOWN) for QVF Inc. and Olivier Bibas (BORGIA) for Atlantique Productions. Fred Fuchs (CAMELOT) will serve as Executive Producer.

TRANSPORTER: THE SERIES is a France/Canada international treaty co-production produced by Atlantique Productions SA and QVF Inc. in association with broadcast partners The Movie Network, Movie Central and M6 (France).
