TORONTO (June 1, 2016) – Backyard athletes across Canada are about to collide in the second-annual
COORS LIGHT GAMES, launching across the country with Regional Qualifiers beginning Sunday, June 12 and culminating in a two-day National Event from August 26-28. Hosted by TSN’s
Cabral ‘Cabbie’ Richards and
Tessa Bonhomme, and in French by RDS’s Phil Branch,
THE COORS LIGHT GAMES Nationals will be showcased across Canada on TSN and RDS – official broadcasters of
THE COORS LIGHT GAMES.
TSN broadcasts the best of
THE COORS LIGHT GAMES on
Thursday, Sept. 1 at
10:30 p.m. ET, while RDS airs a 30-minute recap of the epic backyard competition on
Saturday, Sept. 3 at
7 p.m. ET. TSN’s best of
THE COORS LIGHT GAMES broadcast will feature play-by-play commentary from
Luke Wileman and analysis from
Jason deVos.
Featuring the country’s finest amateur athletes,
THE COORS LIGHT GAMES transform classic backyard games into larger-than-life competitions with activities such as Water Luge, Splatter Dodgeball, and Bubble Soccer.
“Last year’s
COORS LIGHT GAMES set the bar, this year’s is going to raise it even higher,” says Leslie Malcolm, Marketing Manager, Coors Light. “We take our backyard games just as seriously as our drinkers do, which is why we’ve upped the ante this year with more opportunities to participate, more giveaways throughout the summer and an even bigger and better venue for the National Event in August.”
“Our partnership with Coors Light has brought to life some authentic and creative campaigns, including integrated social coverage of Toronto Raptors home games, and of course, last year’s inaugural
COORS LIGHT GAMES,” says Brandon Moonsawmy, Director of Sports Partnerships at Bell Media. “This year, TSN is taking
THE COORS LIGHT GAMES a step further with even more shareable content and an enhanced broadcast of the Nationals later this summer, featuring Cabbie and Tessa Bonhomme hosting and Luke Wileman and Jason deVos calling all the action.”
Canada’s true amateur athletes can earn their way to
THE COORS LIGHT GAMES Nationals by winning a gold can at one of the Regional Qualifier events, participating in challenges on the Coors Light Canada social channels throughout the summer using #bravethegames, or by finding a gold can in specially-marked cases of Coors Light.
Athletes who qualify for the National Event receive an all-expense paid trip to
THE COORS LIGHT GAMES for themselves and three friends. The weekend features live music performances, nightly events, and a day’s worth of epic competitions, with one team emerging victorious as Canada’s top backyard athletes of the year.
