Craig Button’s Breakdown
TSN Director of Scouting
Craig Button shares his thoughts on the future stars to watch during the
NCAA HOCKEY season:
- “The NCAA continues to develop quality players for the NHL. If you’re a Vancouver Canucks fan, 2015 first round pick Brock Boeser of North Dakota University is one of the very best players in the NCAA. He was one of the top scoring freshmen on the national champions last season and his future arrival in Vancouver is much anticipated.”
- “Ottawa Senators fans can watch one of their 2015 first round picks, centre Colin White of Boston College.”
- “Looking ahead to the 2017 Draft, Ryan Poehling, a 17-year-old freshman at St. Cloud University, is a certain first round pick.”
- “Three more players who could be wearing Canadian colours at the World Juniors in the next two years: North Dakota’s Tyson Jost (drafted 10th overall by the Colorado Avalanche), Boston University’s Dante Fabbro (drafted 17th overall by the Nashville Predators), and St. Cloud University’s Dennis Cholowski (drafted 20th overall by the Detroit Red Wings).”
