TORONTO (July 26, 2013) – TSN congratulates Jim Nelford, the network’s long-time golf analyst and former professional golfer, on his induction to the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame.

Nelford will be formally inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame tonight, during the RBC Canadian Open Championship at the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame & Museum in Oakville, Ont.

“Jim brings an unquestionable passion and love for golf that translates into truly insightful analysis of the sport. For nearly 40 years, he has made an immeasurable impact on golf in Canada – as a wonderful ambassador, mentor, and analyst,” said Stewart Johnston, President, TSN. “All of us at TSN congratulate him on being recognized with this well-deserved honour.”

About Jim Nelford
As one of Canada’s most prolific young golfers, Vancouver-born Nelford won consecutive Canadian Amateur Championships in 1975 and 1976. Widely considered as one of the best ball strikers in the sport, Nelford would go on to win the 1980 World Cup with fellow Canadian Dan Halldorson.

The Golf Writers Association of America would recognize Nelford with the Ben Hogan Award in 1992 for staying active in golf despite a physical handicap or serious illness, following a boating accident.

Shortly after ending his playing career Nelford would begin his broadcasting career, becoming a regular contributor to TSN’s golf coverage.
