TORONTO (November 16, 2015) – Canada’s own
Jamal Murray is one of college basketball’s top prospects, and he hits the court all season long on TSN as the network delivers complete coverage of every
Kentucky Wildcats game – all the way through NCAA
® MARCH MADNESS
®.
Basketball fans in Canada can follow Murray and his nationally-ranked
Kentucky Wildcats every week throughout the regular season, beginning with a clash of national title contenders
tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 17), when they take on the
Duke Blue Devils at
7:30 p.m. ET on
TSN2 as part of the ESPN Champions Classic. The majority of Wildcats games will air live with some having same-day coverage on TSN platforms (see below for complete broadcast schedule).
“From the Raptors, our partnership with Canada Basketball, and the BIOSTEEL ALL-CANADIAN BASKETBALL GAME, to extensive coverage of NCAA
® MARCH MADNESS
®, TSN is committed to growing basketball across the country and showcasing the next generation of Canadian stars,” said Shawn Redmond, Vice-President of Programming, TSN. “In the last year, we’ve seen Jamal Murray light it up in the BioSteel game and watched him commit to Kentucky live on SPORTSCENTRE. Now we’re thrilled to follow him all season long on TSN.”
Murray, a native of Kitchener, Ont., competed for Canada at the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games, and was named co-MVP of the first-ever BIOSTEEL ALL-CANADIAN BASKETBALL GAME, a showcase for Canada’s best emerging high school basketball talents. He then announced his commitment to attend the University of Kentucky in an exclusive press conference on TSN.
The highly-touted guard brings his game to the NCAA this season as a key recruit for the Wildcats, who tied for the top spot on the
USA Today pre-season coaches’ poll. With the most all-time wins in NCAA Division I men’s basketball history, the Kentucky Wildcats are perennial national championship contenders.
TSN is also the official Canadian broadcaster of NCAA
® MARCH MADNESS
®, and will offer wall-to-wall coverage of the tournament from the opening round tipoff on March 15 all the way to the championship game on April 4, 2016, live from NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
