
TORONTO (January 28, 2016) – Patrick Kane and the Washington Capitals were the big winners in the annual
TSN All-Star Break Head Coaches’ Poll.
With 27 of 30 head coaches – 90 per cent participation – casting ballots, the Chicago Blackhawks’ superstar winger Kane was the overwhelming favourite as the league’s best player this season, collecting 22 votes. Washington was the clear choice to win the Eastern Conference (25 votes) and Stanley Cup (16).

2015 Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award for excellence in hockey journalism, were as follows:
- Best Goalie – Braden Holtby, Washington Capitals
- Best Defenceman – Drew Doughty, Los Angeles Kings
- Best Rookie – Artemi Panarin, Chicago Blackhawks
- Top Coach – Barry Trotz, Washington Capitals
