Montréal, 4 mai 2021 – Less than a year after the launch of the new brand and new programming, the Noovo team can be proud of this strong start! With an 10% increase in audience and a 13% increase in average viewing time, the conventional channel has achieved the biggest rise in viewership seen in this market to date. These gains have occurred mainly during peak viewing hours, with Bell Media having invested heavily in original Quebec productions to enhance the channel’s programming since it was acquired. “The first results for Noovo are convincing. The channel switched to a new format last fall, with local Quebec productions as the focal point. Clearly, the public is pleased with its offering, since more viewers than ever are now watching the channel,” explained Suzane Landry, Vice President, Content Development, Programming and News, for Bell Media in Quebec. “This year, the ten most-watched shows on Noovo are all original productions, of which half are new. All our teams can be proud of the work accomplished to date in a context, let us remember, that is most special for our producers. Our goal is to continue enhancing the offering by adding original, homegrown content on our conventional channel, for which we have major plans. In that regard, it has certainly made a highly promising start.” The debuts of original scripted shows such as CONTRE-OFFRE and ENTRE DEUX DRAPS have contributed greatly to the increase, along with the new competition show LE PROCHAIN STAND-UP and winter favourite BIG BROTHER CÉLÉBRITÉS. The channel’s biggest hits, including OCCUPATION DOUBLE, LA SEMAINE DES 4 JULIE and L’AMOUR EST DANS LE PRÉ, remain among Noovo’s most-watched shows. With highly desirable audience demographics concentrated on advertisers’ key target groups, Noovo’s rise is set to continue in the fall of 2021, when it will unveil major new shows such as the drama VIRAGE and the variety-style musical gameshow QUI SAIT CHANTER?, with more announcements to come. Viewing Gains on All Platforms   The multi-platform implementation of the Noovo brand and its content is integral to Bell Media’s strategy. Noovo.ca, whose new version bringing together all of Bell Media’s French-language channels in a single location was launched a few weeks ago, also saw a large increase in views and unique visitors. During winter only, views rose by 143% to more than 10 millions. Unique visitors, meanwhile, have risen by 37% to 3,7 million. Going forward, with the addition of more exclusive Quebec series and the lifestyle site Noovo Moi, there will be even more reasons to visit Noovo’s digital platforms.
