UNINTERRUPTED CANADA BEGINS PRODUCTION ON ORIGINAL DOCUMENTARY PROFILING THE NURSE FAMILY

TORONTO (Friday, July 17, 2020) – Athlete empowerment brand UNINTERRUPTED Canada today announced the start of production on an original, yet-to-be-titled documentary profiling the Nurses and their emergence as one Canada’s most accomplished sports families. Set to debut in Fall 2020 on TSN, this feature biopic charts the journey of Richard Nurse, a former CFL player for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, his wife Cathy, a former varsity basketball player for McMaster University and their children, WNBA star Kia Nurse, Edmonton Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse, and Tamika Nurse, who played Division 1 basketball for Oregon and Bowling Green State. “Sport has played an essential role in my family’s story and success in Canada,” said Kia Nurse. “We’re excited to share our experiences and hope to pass on the lessons we’ve learned through sport to the next generation. Uninterrupted Canada provides the perfect platform to tell our own story in our own words.” “Canada has a long list of revered sports families, but none have the gender and sports diversity that has shaped the Nurse family narrative,” said Vinay Virmani, Partner and Chief Content Officer of UNINTERRUPTED Canada. “The more we explored their story, the more compelling it became, and we felt that recognition for what they’ve accomplished needed to be championed.” The documentary chronicles Kia, Darnell and Tamika’s inclusive experience growing up in Hamilton, Ontario and the strength, endurance and sacrifice required to become an elite athlete and how that drive has transferred from generation to generation.
