th season of informing and educating Canadian viewers, beginning
Saturday, Oct. 2 at
7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV,
CTV.ca,
CTVNews.ca, and the CTV and CTV news apps. The Canadian Screen Award-winning series returns this week with an exclusive television interview with the truck driver convicted of causing the Humboldt Broncos bus crash in April 2018.

W5’s season launch episode “The Humboldt Driver”, to share their stories of grief, guilt, and forgiveness, revealing new details of a powerful relationship that has developed between one of the Humboldt family victims and the man who caused their son’s death. The
W5 investigation uncovers alarming and potentially deadly flaws in the trucking industry’s training system, which was supposed to be designed to prevent another disaster on the roads.

Lisa LaFlamme reports “Escape From Kabul” – the compelling story of the chaotic mission taken on by a group of volunteer Canadian veterans to evacuate Afghan citizens, after the country was taken over by the Taliban last month. The documentary also focuses on Roya Shams, an Afghan-Canadian living in Ottawa, and her combination of determination and fear while trying to bring her family to safety in Canada.
