About

ANIMAL KINGDOM centres on 17-year-old Joshua “J” Cody (Finn Cole, PEAKY BLINDERS), as he moves to a Southern California beach town to live with his estranged grandmother, Janine "Smurf" Cody (Ellen Barkin, HAPPYISH) and “her boys”, after his mother suffers a fatal overdose. Led by the hardened and tenacious "Smurf" and her right-hand, adopted son Baz (Scott Speedman, Underworld) who runs the business and calls the shots, the family includes the menacing Pope Cody (Shawn Hatosy, SOUTHLAND), the eldest and fresh out of prison; hyperactive middle son Craig Cody (Ben Robson, VIKINGS) who is considered the most fearless; and the troubled and suspicious “baby” of the family, Deran Cody (Jake Weary, It Follows). Joining the family comes with more danger and excitement than J might be able to handle.
