AMERICAN HOSTAGE is a high-stakes anthology series, starring and executive produced by Emmy Award winner Jon Hamm. Based on the acclaimed first season of the scripted podcast of the same name, the series is a psychological thriller set in the 1970s inspired by the harrowing true story of an Indianapolis radio reporter Fred Heckman (Hamm), who is thrust into the middle of a life-or-death crisis when hostage-taker, Tony Kiritsis (Giovanni Ribisi), demands to be interviewed on his popular radio news program.
