After being dumped by her longterm girlfriend, Coach Joanne Pico is dead set on taking her loser slo pitch team all the way to the beer league championships. Her ex has joined another team in the league, so this year, IT’S PERSONAL. The stakes have never been higher for Joanne and her beloved band of unruly misfits. Before Joanne can even start thinking about getting the team to the finals, a crisis erupts: The Brovaries have lost their long-standing sponsor, The Public Lass Bar & Grill. New management has taken over, and they don’t see the point of paying for a bunch of local nobodies to drink beers and lose games. Joanne manages to persuade the bar’s new owner, Barb, that supporting the Brovaries will be good for her image (she’s running for city council), and Barb agrees to give them a shot on the condition that they start actually winning games. Throughout the season, the team must contend with traitorous exes, sexy carwashes gone wrong, depressed rental clowns, and love affairs with team sponsors. The Brovaries galvanize around their coach, reminding themselves of what brought this unlikely group of people together in the first place. COMMUNITY, FUN, AND BEER! And maybe if they win it all, they’ll get COMMUNITY+FUN+BEER tattooed on their asses at 3AM during a drunken celebration. Absolutely none of them will regret it the next morning, and none of the words will be misspelled. 😉
