Spring 1963, Quebec City. Terror reigns in the capital following the disappearance of four young boys. The police are on edge, and families are afraid for their children. Suspicion hangs over Léo-Paul Dion, a man with a heavy criminal past who has just been released. Dion ends up confessing to the crimes. His trial and the evidence are overwhelming. Guy Bertrand, an unknown young lawyer at the time, stands up for this child killer and tries to save him from the death penalty.
