– 101.3 Virgin Radio and Pete’s Frootique & Fine Foods team up to give back and make a difference for Nova Scotians –

HALIFAX (December 12, 2018) – iHeartRadio Canada’s 101.3 Virgin Radio is calling all Haligonians to support the Feed Nova Scotia Food Drive in its second annual 12-hour live broadcast in partnership with Pete’s Frootique & Fine Foods, airing Thursday, Dec. 13 from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. AT. This unique 12-hour special kicks off with 101.3 Virgin Radio’s morning trio Turk, Megan, and Amateur Alex broadcasting live-on-location at Pete’s Frootique & Fine Foods in Sunnyside Mall. The trio delivering collection updates from 6 – 10 a.m. AT, followed by Erin Hopkins from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. AT, and Kat Elliott from 2 – 6 p.m. AT. Community members are encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items or financial donations to Pete’s Frootique & Fine Foods locations at:

“We’re extremely proud to continue this food drive tradition alongside our wonderful local partners at Feed Nova Scotia and Pete’s Frootique & Fine Foods,” said Trent McGrath, Vice-President and General Manager, CTV Atlantic and Bell Media Radio Atlantic. “The generous contributions from our listeners and the time donated by all volunteers will make the holiday season much brighter for the Halifax community.” Local businesses can join in the spirit of giving by registering at 1013VirginRadio.ca in advance to arrange a donation drop-off time. Financial contributions are also accepted online. The annual Feed Nova Scotia Food Drive has become a popular event that brings families together and feeds thousands of Nova Scotians during the holiday season. 101.3 Virgin Radio launched the campaign during the recent Holiday Parade of Lights, where the station’s on-air hosts and staff collected food donations from spectators along the parade route to be distributed to families across the province this holiday season.
