CTV Announces the 2019 Saskatoon Citizen of the Year

  SASKATOON (December 31, 2019) – CTV Saskatoon announced today that Harold Chapman will receive the 2019 Saskatoon Citizen of the Year Award. As announced tonight during CTV NEWS AT SIX, Chapman will accept the award at a reception early in 2020. “Harold has spent his lifetime working and educating us all about the cooperative moment in Saskatchewan,” said Jeff Bollenbach, General Manager, Manitoba/Saskatchewan, Radio and Television, Bell Media, who made the announcement during this evening’s newscast. “His community involvement has spanned more than half a century and his support of many organizations and individuals has made Saskatoon a better place for us all. We thank him for his dedication.” Chapman is a founding member of the Saskatoon Community Clinic and was instrumental in the establishment of Station 20 West. His lifetime of work has been recognized with the Order of Canada and an honourary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He has shared his time and expertise with many organizations including the Saskatoon Council on Aging, Rotary Club of Saskatoon, and McClure Place Foundation. The Saskatoon Citizen of the Year Award presented by CTV is an annual tradition now in its 53^rd year. Each November, CTV Saskatoon accepts nominations from viewers for the Saskatoon Citizen of the Year Award and at the end of December, presents the award to an individual who exemplifies excellence in community service.
