Ahead of the dramatic conclusion of the fourth and final season of critically acclaimed Canadian production and CTV original series, CARDINAL, key cast and creatives shared their favourite moments as they looked back fondly over the last four years. Jennifer Kawaja and Julia Sereny, Co-Executive Producers, Sienna Films on Season 1 Episode 6: “We loved this moment, which for the first time, revealed a different side of Cardinal past his often stoic demeanour when he finds Keith just in the nick of time.” Dan Grou, Season 1 & 3 Director, CARDINAL on Season 1 Episode 5 “It was a tense scene in that we had to keep the momentum. It was hard to watch Billy Campbell and Karine Vanasse argue this way because they liked and respected each other so much but it was necessary to go all out.” Tom Hastings, Director, Original Programming, Bell Media on Season 3 Episode 3 “Masterfully written by Patrick Tarr and subtly directed by Dan Grou, this scene is a pivotal moment when the Cardinal series shifts to the Cardinal-Delorme series.” Billy Campbell (Det. John Cardinal) on Season 3 Episode 6: “I was so happy with this ending. It was wonderfully understated, warm, hinting at things to (maybe) come, and because I, myself, was happy to be sitting on a couch with Karine eating chili; very few lines, food, friends. All things that make me happiest.” Karine Vanasse, (Det. Lise Delorme) on Season 4 Episode 5: “It was late in the night. The crew was tired, but it was almost the end of our shooting and nobody wanted to miss a beat.I remember just sitting there, grateful and happy, with Delorme’s cigarette, looking at the whole crew and Billy, next to the camera, who was waiting for our director to call action to start walking towards Delorme. The level of comfort I felt with Billy to let that simple yet beautiful and honest moment unfold between the characters…and then, the smiles! I mean, Cardinal and Delorme smiled!” The finale episode of CARDINAL, airing tonight at 10 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT on CTV concludes as Dets. John Cardinal (Billy Campbell) and Lise Delorme (Karine Vanasse) make an unexpected arrest, and follow a hunch to their killer’s location – but he’s one step ahead, and stopping him will be incredibly risky.
