The team at York Memorial Hospital is back for another exciting season of the hit CTV Original drama
TRANSPLANT, and Season 2 is already delivering an array of compelling new cases for audiences tuning in each Monday. As the doctors encounter a range of patients this season, each experience is set to bring new challenges for the team, both in and out of the emergency room.
“We have some very exciting, emotional patients,” said Joseph Kay, creator and showrunner. “We have been given access to some incredible medical stories that we had a really great time writing; that we had a very difficult and fun time filming; and that are going to be thrilling for the audience.”
While some injuries and ailments may seem familiar this season, from a variety of punctures and fractures to a case of food poisoning, the York Memorial team are set encounter some challenging conditions, including
internal decapitation,
gangrene, and a case of
sensory processing disorder.
While the medical situations are developed to convey a deeply satisfying resonance for audiences, for Kay and his fellow writers, the human dimension always comes first.
With every situation that Bash (Hamza Haq) and the medical team encounter, the doctors work to deftly intervene, using everything available to them to save lives. While they always aim to succeed, sometimes, despite their best efforts, they fail to do so. In those moments, the doctors – and the audience – are reminded that in the end, they are only human.
