TORONTO (June 22, 2016) – This July, The Comedy Network has a nationwide Freeview full of hilarious and homegrown programming including the series premiere of WRECKED; the linear TV premiere of the CraveTV smash-hit original LETTERKENNY; a marathon of THE DETOUR; the return of ANGIE TRIBECA following a marathon of Season 1; and new episodes of fan-favourite series, including JUST FOR LAUGHS: ALL ACCESS. The Comedy Freeview is available on TV service providers across Canada, including Bell, Cogeco, Eastlink, MTS, Rogers, Sasktel, Shaw, Shaw Direct, Tbaytel, Telus, and Videotron. Among the highlights: WRECKED All-new series WRECKED crash-lands on Comedy during the Freeview premiering Tuesday, July 5 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. The 10-episode, half-hour single camera comedy follows a group of plane crash survivors trying to make a new life for themselves on a deserted island. Removed from all the amenities of modern life – plumbing, Wi-Fi, social media, and Chipotle – the group must find a way to survive in their new surroundings, but not without a fair amount of mishaps and hijinks. The WRECKED cast is stacked with familiar faces and up-and-comers, including Zach Cregger (ABOUT A BOY), Rhys Darby (FLIGHT OF THE CONCORDS), Jessica Lowe (Blended), Asif Ali (MR. ROBINSON), Ally Maki (Geography Club), Will Greenberg (THE GRINDER), Brooke Dillman (THE MIDDLE), Ginger Gonzaga (MIXOLOGY), and Brian Sacca (The Wolf of Wall Street). LETTERKENNY Nothing says Canada Day like Hicks, Skids, and Hockey Players! Comedy is spending Canada’s “super soft birthday” in LETTERKENNY, where Wayne (Jared Keeso, 19-2) and his buds get into dustups with their small-town rivals. Viewers can catch the homegrown hilarity with the linear television premiere featuring a marathon of the first season of LETTERKENNY, Friday, July 1 beginning at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The marathon repeats at 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. ET/PT. Season 1 of LETTERKENNY is available for streaming on CraveTV™. THE DETOUR Comedy delivers the hilarity of family roadtrips with a marathon of THE DETOUR starring Jason Jones, Sunday, July 3 beginning at 12 noon ET. Jason Jones (THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART) stars as unfiltered dad Nate, who loads up the car with his wife Robin (Natalie Zea, THE FOLLOWING), and their twins Delilah (Ashley Gerasimovich, We Need To Talk About Kevin) and Jared, (Liam Carroll, THE NEIGHBORS), to take a trip down to Florida. With the family in close quarters and traveling cross-country, the trip has no shortage of unexpected encounters and disastrous mishaps along the way. ANGIE TRIBECA Returning to Comedy just in time for the Freeview, ANGIE TRIBECA is back on the case as Season 2 of the satirical comedy premieres Thursday, July 7 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. Viewers looking to review the case files of Season 1 can tune in to the ANGIE TRIBECA marathon, Saturday, July 2 beginning at 1 p.m. ET. Season 2 sees Angie (Rashida Jones, PARKS AND RECREATION) and the detectives of the LAPD investigate the murder of a sushi chef; the death of the “bad boy” in a boy band who gets decapitated by a t-shirt cannon; and a band of drug-dealing lifeguards. Additional Programming Includes: July on Comedy features all-new episodes of signature series, including Comedy original series JUST FOR LAUGHS: ALL ACCESS (Saturdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT), and the most buzz-worthy late-night series including Comedy exclusive FULL FRONTAL WITH SAMANTHA BEE (Mondays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT), THE DAILY SHOW WITH TREVOR NOAH (Monday to Thursday at 11 p.m. ET/PT), and THE NIGHTLY SHOW WITH LARRY WILMORE (Monday to Thursday at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT).
