TORONTO (December 2, 2013) – You heard the man! Kevin Smith and The Comedy Network announced today that Season 2 of the no-holds-barred “movie revue” series SPOILERS premieres this Friday, Dec. 6 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, exclusively on Comedy. Produced by Comedy in association with Smith’s SModCo and Halfire-CORE Entertainment, the 10-episode, half-hour series features Smith and an audience of movie lovers sounding-off on the year’s most anticipated blockbusters, while breaking down their favourite (and not-so-favourite) scenes.
In the premiere episode entitled “Battle Royale with Cheese,” Smith and audience take a look at the second instalment of the The Hunger Games trilogy, Catching Fire. The episode also features a candid interview with guest star Jane Lynch (GLEE) about her life, her career, and err…movies! In Episode 2 (Friday, Dec. 13 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT), Smith chats with actor/director/writer Mark Duplass (THE LEAGUE), and the in-studio cinephiles review the biographical drama, Dallas Buyers Club. Season 2 of SPOILERS also features appearances by Smith’s best friend and long-time collaborator, Jason Mewes (TODD & THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL).
Season 1 of SPOILERS made its Canadian broadcast debut on Bell Media’s Space in the summer of 2012 after launching on the channel’s website. Guests of the series included comic book legend Stan Lee; Princess Leia herself, Carrie Fisher; actor/director Jon Favreau (Iron Man 2), and more.
Noreen Halpern (WORKING THE ENGELS) and Jason Mewes are Executive Producers for SPOILERS. Jordan Monsanto is Producer. Jennifer Schwalbach (Clerks II) is Associate Producer.
