Fall for CraveTV this September with all new programming anchored by the exclusive arrival of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. New series, documentaries, and specials that begin streaming in September include:
- In an exclusive Canadian streaming window, STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, one of television’s most anticipated new series for fall, begins Monday, September 25 at 8 p.m. ET on CraveTV. Episode 2 streams immediately after at 9 p.m. ET. Subsequent episodes stream Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET. STAR TREK: DISCOVERY follows the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new lifeforms, and for one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself. In anticipation of the new series, CraveTV presents new titles like BUILDING STAR TREK, a special program featuring scientists, actors, and cultural leaders exploring the phenomenon of the series, and TREK NATION, a documentary featuring Rod Roddenberry, son of STAR TREK creator Gene Roddenberry, as he explores his father’s stellar legacy. Both begin streaming September 22.The addition bolsters CraveTV’s STAR TREK Collection, which includes all previous television series in the STAR TREK franchise. - The 21-episode inaugural season of conspiracy thriller DESIGNATED SURVIVOR begins streams Friday, September 1. Emmy® and Golden Globe® winner Kiefer Sutherland (24) returns to primetime as Tom Kirkman, a lower cabinet member who unexpectedly becomes president after a devastating attack on Washington. Also starring Natascha McElhone (CALIFORNICATION) as Alex Kirkman; Maggie Q (NIKITA) as Hannah Wells; Kal Penn (HOUSE) as Seth Wright; Adan Canto (THE FOLLOWING) as Aaron Shore; Italia Ricci (SUPERGIRL) as Emily Rhodes; LaMonica Garrett (SONS OF ANARCHY) as Mike Ritter; and Tanner Buchanan (THE FOSTERS) as Leo Kirkman.
- TWIN PEAKS concludes on Sunday, September 3 beginning at 8 p.m. ET with a two-part finale.
- From SHOWTIME Sports, the all-access documentary series A SEASON WITH NAVY FOOTBALL begins streaming Friday, September 8. The series immerses viewers behind-the-scenes and into the lives of the football players and coaches at the storied Service Academy, one of the world’s most unique collegiate institutions and its dedicated student body. A SEASON WITH NAVY FOOTBALL documents Navy’s preparation for each matchup of the 2017 season, and the pageantry and the intensity on game day, while showcasing the requisite selflessness and dedication it takes to compete at the Naval Academy.
- CraveTV presents the explosive fifth and final season of the iconic Canadian series ORPHAN BLACK, which begins streaming Friday, September 15. In Season 5, Sarah Manning and her sisters confront their darkest days in an effort to win their freedom. Throughout its five-season run, this genre-bending series introduced viewers to some of the most unconventional characters and storylines on television, championed individuality, personal evolution, and strong and complex female characters. - The four-part Bell Media original documentary series HIP-HOP EVOLUTION begins streaming Friday, September 15. The series recently took home a prestigious Peabody Award in the Documentary category, one of only 12 documentary winners for 2016. HIP-HOP EVOLUTIONtravels back to 1970s Bronx and Harlem, unveiling how hip-hop evolved from its beginnings as a New York house-party experiment, to the global phenomenon it is today, and more importantly, how it created a voice for the disenfranchised. Acclaimed Canadian MC Shad Kabango guides viewers through the evolution of the genre, travelling through NYC’s boroughs to speak with hip-hop’s originators and biggest stars. - CraveTV presents the BEST OF W5, streaming Friday, September 29. The collection features highlights from the archives of Canada’s longest-running and most-watched current affairs program. Going back to Season 1 in 1966, featured stories and interviews include Muhammed Ali, Robert Kennedy, Marshall McLuhan, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau featuring a young Justin, Hugh Hefner, John Lennon, and a very young Justin Bieber, plus investigative pieces about abortion and claims of abuse at the Nova Scotia Home for Coloured Children, which resulted in an apology and settlement from the Nova Scotia government.
- CraveTV offers subscribers an exclusive first look at CTV and Super Écran’s new, original six-part series, THE DISAPPEARANCE. Episode 1 begins streaming Saturday, September 30 at 9 p.m. ET, the day before its CTV premiere, with subsequent episodes streaming Saturday nights at 9 p.m. ET. THE DISAPPEARANCE is a psychological family drama centred around the unexplained and sudden disappearance of Anthony Sullivan during a treasure hunt on the day of his 10th birthday.
