TSN Delivers Exclusive Live Coverage of the 156th Running of the QUEEN’S PLATE on Sunday, July 5

TORONTO (July 3, 2015) – The stage is set for the premier event in Canadian horse racing, and TSN delivers exclusive live coverage of the 156^th running of the QUEEN’S PLATE on Sunday, July 5 at 4:30 p.m. ET on TSN1 and TSN2.

Live from Toronto’s Woodbine Racetrack, the QUEEN’S PLATE is the first race of TSN’s exclusive live coverage of the 2015 Canadian Triple Crown series. It features a packed field of top three-year-old thoroughbreds looking to capture the first Canadian Triple Crown title since Wando in 2003. Woodbine Entertainment Group will produce the show. TSN’s Brian Williams hosts the network’s coverage alongside Jim Bannon, a veteran Woodbine Entertainment Group television analyst, commentator, and handicapping expert. As well, CTV’s THE SOCIAL has partnered with Woodbine Entertainment Group to create The Social Lounge, an exclusive tent at the Hats & Horseshoes party during the QUEEN’S PLATE. Co-hosts Melissa Grelo, Cynthia Loyst, Lainey Lui, and Traci Melchor will deliver exclusive interviews and coverage of the event. Laura Diakun and Jason Portuondo contribute updates from track level, and Woodbine track announcer Robert Geller delivers the call, becoming just the third announcer to call the race since 1956.
