Picking up where the
GREY’S ANATOMY fall finale left off – which saw a car crash into Joe’s Bar, trapping both
STATION 19 firefighters and Grey Sloan Memorial doctors in the wreckage – the fan-favourite series returns as part of a two-hour crossover event on
Thursday, Jan. 23. Featuring the rescue efforts and aftermath, the crossover event begins with the Season 3 premiere of
STATION 19 at
8 p.m. ET/PT, and is followed by the winter premiere of
GREY’S ANATOMY at
9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV.

In a trailer for the highly-anticipated episodes, a panicked Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) is seen asking
STATION 19 first responders: “Is my husband [Ben Warren, played by Jason Winston George] in danger? Get my husband out of there!”
Viewers can expect additional crossovers between
STATION 19 and
GREY’S ANATOMY this season. ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke recently
revealed during the Winter TCA Press Tour that the Jan. 23 crossover event is one of four this season, adding that viewers “…will start to see relationships emerge between characters that exist in the STATION world and the GREY’S world in really organic ways.”
While the upcoming season of
GREY’S ANATOMY is expected to be jam-packed with action and romance, the
recently announced departure of veteran cast member Justin Chambers, who has portrayed Dr. Alex Karev for 15 years, is sure to be felt. In response to a Vanity Fair tweet stating that “#GreysAnatomy is about to feel one of its biggest losses yet,” co-star Ellen Pompeo
echoed that “truer words have never been spoken.”
The
STATION 19 and
GREY’S ANATOMY two-hour crossover event airs
Thursday, Jan. 23 beginning at
8 p.m. ET/PT on
CTV.
