Filmmaker Robert Cohen (MARON, THE LIFE AND TIMES OF TIM), embarks on a quest across Canada to rediscover his personal identity and debunk stereotypes about his homeland in the entertaining, non-confrontational, respectful, and polite documentary, BEING CANADIAN. BEING CANADIAN chronicles the real life quest of proud Canadian Robert Cohen, who after leaving Calgary and moving to the U.S. to start a career as a TV comedy writer, began noticing how little people knew about his beloved homeland, and cared virtually nothing about it. After decades of ignorance, insults, and indifference, he decided to do something about it. The 90-minute documentary features Rob on his personal quest – driving from the east coast of Canada to the west, arriving at his final destination in Vancouver on Canada Day – to make sure the country he loves is still what he remembered. He weaves his journey with interviews with a who’s who of famous Canadians such as Mike Myers, Seth Rogen, Martin Short, Howie Mandel, Michael J. Fox, Will Arnett, Alanis Morrisette, Dave Foley, Malcolm Gladwell, Cobie Smulders, Eugene Levy, and some longtime American friends like Kathy Griffin, Ben Stiller, and Conan O’Brien.
