TORONTO (December 16, 2022) – New year, new lineup. CTV confirmed today initial midseason premiere dates, providing a consistently strong lineup every night of the week, with a primetime schedule brimming with gripping new series, celebrated CTV Originals, marquee live events, and fan favourite returning shows.
CTV’s Winter 2023 schedule is further strengthened by nine highly anticipated new scripted and unscripted series including:
- New crime drama WILL TRENT (Jan. 3) starring Ramón Rodríguez is based on Karin Slaughter’s wildly popular bestselling book series, and follows Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
- Based on a hit Australian TV format, THE PARENT TEST (Jan. 5) explores the many distinctively different parenting styles. From helicopter to child-led parents, 12 families are put under the microscope in the ultimate parenting stress test, and share learnings about hot-button topics that compare multiple styles of parenting. Host Ali Wentworth and parenting expert Dr. Adolph Brown moderate.
- From executive producers Jamie Foxx and John Eisendrath (THE BLACKLIST), new missing persons drama ALERT: MISSING PERSONS UNIT debuts Jan. 8, before moving to its regular Monday timeslot on Jan. 9. The series is focused on the Philadelphia Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit, and stars Scott Caan (HAWAII FIVE-0) and Dania Ramirez (DEVIOUS MAIDS).
- One of the biggest game shows in recent U.K. history comes across the pond. Hosted by Emmy® winner RuPaul Charles (RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE), LINGO (Jan. 11) is a high-stakes solve-the-puzzle competition that pits teams of two against each other in multiple fast-paced rounds of guessing letters that in turn reveal seemingly simple words.
- NIGHT COURT (Jan. 22), a follow-up to the beloved 1980s sitcom, stars THE BIG BANG THEORY’s Melissa Rauch and comedy legend John Larroquette, reprising his role as Dan Fielding.
- From creators David Windsor and Casey Johnson (THIS IS US, THE REAL O’NEALS) and starring Gina Rodriguez, NOT DEAD YET (Feb. 8) follows Nell Serrano (Rodriguez), a broke and newly single self-described disaster, working to restart the life and career she left behind five years ago. When she lands the only job she can find – writing obituaries – Nell starts getting life advice from an unlikely source. The series is adapted from the book “Confessions of a 40-something F**k Up” by Alexandra Potter.
- Starring, and executive produced by, Milo Ventimiglia (THIS IS US), new thrilling drama THE COMPANY YOU KEEP (Feb. 19) is based on the Korean Broadcasting System series MY FELLOW CITIZENS.
- Inspired by James Cameron’s fan-favourite international spy blockbuster, TRUE LIES (March 1) stars Steve Howey (Bride Wars) and Ginger Gonzaga (TOGETHERNESS).
Returning in midseason are can’t-miss longstanding hits and returning fan-favourites, including:
- AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: ALL-STARS (Jan. 2) features winners, finalists, fan favorites, and viral sensations from previous seasons of the AMERICA’S GOT TALENT and GOT TALENT franchises from around the world, as they compete for the ultimate All-Star title. Hosted by Terry Crews, Simon Cowell executive produces and judges along with AGT‘s Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum.
- Hit drama series 9-1-1: LONE STAR (Jan. 24), starring Rob Lowe and Gina Torres, is back for a fourth season with all-new rescues.
- Gordon Ramsay’s NEXT LEVEL CHEF (Feb. 12) returns for a second season and lands the coveted post-SUPER BOWL timeslot.
- THE VOICE (March 6) is back with new judges Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan, who join returning judges Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton for Season 23.
- CTV is also home to the biggest live events this winter, including SUPER BOWL LVII (Feb. 12) and THE OSCARS (March 12).
